The Fort Erie Racetrack was given new life by the provincial government agreeing to contribute $5.6 million for each of the three years it will operate as a non-profit organization. One loose end of the agreement that still needed to be tied-up was whether the Town of Fort Erie would set aside $500,000 for each year to make the new format work.
Following Monday’s council-in-committee meeting, it was approved through by-law that the Town would be contributing the requested amount at least for the first year.
