The 2013 QROOI Stakes Program has been approved by the Ontario Racing Commission. This includes a total of Twenty Five (25) stakes races during June through October 2013.

May 3, 2013 - 2013 Racing Program for Quarter Horse Racing Approved
2013 Racing Program for Quarter Horse Racing has been approved.
Following approval of 30 days of Quarter Horse racing at Ajax Downs, the Program Administrator of the Quarter Horse Racing Industry Development Program is pleased to announce approval of $750,000 for the 2013 Ontario Quarter Horse Stakes program. Final approval of stakes conditions will come with the release for the Stakes Guide within the week.

April 23, 2013 - Disease Advisory from OMAFRA
The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food (OMAF) has been notified of a confirmed case of Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM), caused by equine herpes virus 1 (EHV-1), in Wellington County. A blood sample from a horse with severe neurological signs tested positive for EHV-1 neuropathogenic pathotype in early April. The horse was euthanized. Please see the attached memo from the QROOI and Ajax Downs regarding the $10 per horse Training Fee for Workouts.
Also, I have been advised that the ORC will be opening their Ajax Downs Licensing Office on Thurs, Apr 25 @ 9am to begin licensing. The office will also be open on Sat, Apr 27. More details will follow concerning licensing hours.
